The versatile musical activity of Jānis Ķirsis personality has been formed since childhood. Riga Dome Choir School (Choir Conductor class) and Jazeps Vitols Latvian Academy of Music (profound learning of the Musical Composition) formed the basis of his various musical expressions and unquenchable artistic quests.
Jānis Ķirsis began his musical career as an artistic director of vocal ensembles and choirs at the age of 16. The vocal ensemble "Knīpas and Knauķi" and the private high school "Patnís" were his first performances as an artistic director. Working with children as a composer over the years has resulted in 8 children's music albums, 8 musicals and theater performances for youth, and the most popular among them - the musical "Class" (2006) and the Latvia Puppet Theater’s production "Makss and Morics" (2017).
Jānis Ķirsis is also known as a member and artistic director of the vocal group FRAMEST; the group's origins date back to 2006, while he was still studying at the Riga Dome Choir School. The Riga Gold Choir is also cherished by Jānis - since the year 2013 he is the choir's artistic director.
His creative work marks significant achievements in academic music, Jānis Ķirsis created music for the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra, Liepaja Symphony Orchestra, Latvian Radio Bigband, The Orchestra RIGA, choir "Kamēr", "Juventus", "Maska", “Ave Sol”, accordionist Kseniya Sidorova, group Framest, etc., also he has achievements as a composer, pianist, singer and producer in stage music, working together with music associations and artists in Latvia, such as Raimonds Pauls, Imants Kalniņš, Jānis Lūsēns, Dons, Daumants Kalniņš, Kaspars Zemītis, Kārlis Lācis and many other contemporary popular music artists.
